Tuesday, April 27, 2010:
Starting on 29th April, an innovative 'Textiles with Attitude' promotion at IKEA's Dubai Festival City store will show customers how to alter the atmosphere in their home by changing textile colours, accessories and lighting, freshening up a room and transforming it for the season. These are just some of the tips that visitors will learn from IKEA's in-house interior designers and communication consultants as they demonstrate how it is possible to make low-cost but exciting changes to the look of a room in just 30 minutes.
This is the first time such an activity aimed at families, interior design buffs and even children has been held by IKEA. Customers will come to understand how the Swedish lifestyle giant has put fashion into products and made good Scandinavian design accessible to lots of people.
Demonstrations will be held every afternoon from 2pm to 2.30pm, Mondays to Thursdays for six weeks, beginning 29th April. Weeks 1, 4 and 6 will feature 'Living Rooms', week 2; 'Dining Rooms', and 'Bedrooms' will be showcased in weeks 3 and 5.
The IKEA store at Dubai Festival City will be offering up to a 50 per cent reduction on stitching services for IKEA textiles, with stitching time also reduced from four to two days.
A 'Kids Fabric Day' activity will also take place every Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 6pm where children will be given the opportunity to play and create their own unique textile patterns, and paint and draw on fabric. All children will receive their creations framed as a memento of the day courtesy of IKEA.
